• ✂️ Sharp! A grown-up does this part.
• 🚫 Not food! Never taste it, and wash your hands when you're done.
• 🥽 Goggles on
• 🧽 A bit messy

Gather first

• A small pumpkin · 1 small one
• A baking tray or big plate · to catch the lava
• A spoon · a big one, for scooping
• A big bowl · for the seeds
• 🖍️ Crayons or markers · a black marker
• Baking soda · 3 tablespoons
• Dish soap · a squirt
• Food colouring · purple or green, a few drops
• White vinegar · 1 cup
• A measuring cup
• 🔪 A sharp kitchen knife, for the grown-up 👋 grown-up

The big idea: Baking soda and vinegar make a gas inside the pumpkin, and soap turns it into oozing lava.
