Mummy wraps

Mummy Pumpkin Painting ยท No-carve, ages 3 and up

Wrap, wrap, wrap! A mummy with two googly eyes peeking out.

๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ No-carveages 3 and up

You need

  • a pumpkin (any size)
  • washable paint
  • paintbrushes and a sponge
  • a pencil
  • markers
  • paint: white
  • googly eyes and glue dots

๐Ÿ–จ๏ธ Print the painting guide

For a medium pumpkin, about 9 to 11 inches tall.

How we paint it

  1. You

    1. Wash it

Wipe the pumpkin with a damp cloth and let it dry.

  2. You

    2. Draw it on

Draw the picture on with a pencil, or tape the printed guide on and trace over it.

  3. You

    3. Paint the big parts

Paint the big parts first. Let them dry, then paint the next colour on.

  4. You

    4. Add the little parts

Add the little parts with markers or a thin brush.

  5. Together

    5. Stick on the extras

Stick on the extras with glue dots or craft glue. A grown-up does any hot glue. Googly eyes and other small stick-ons can choke a child under 3: a grown-up sticks them on and puts the spares away.

  • ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ No knife at all: paint, markers, stickers and glue dots. Washable paint comes off hands and tables.

For grown-ups

Paint wide white stripes criss-cross round the pumpkin, leave a gap, and stick two googly eyes in it. (Strips of white tape or crepe paper work too.)
