Ghost Toast for kids: the whole recipe

Let's spread a friendly ghost on toast and give it a BOO face! This easy Halloween treat is for ages 5 to 9 (grades Kโ€“3rd), takes about 10 minutes and serves 2. Crumb, our tiny chef, reads every step aloud with a picture, so a child can follow along, and every hot or sharp step is marked for a grown-up.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (or gluten-free bread)
  • 3 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon raisins

Tools

A toaster (grown-up), A butter knife, Measuring spoons, A plate.

Steps

  1. Wash your hands with soap for twenty seconds.
  2. Grown-up step: A grown-up toasts 2 slices of bread until golden and crunchy.
  3. Let the toast cool for a minute, so the spread won't melt.
  4. Spread 3 tablespoons of cream cheese on in a ghost shape: a round head and a wiggly bottom.
  5. Press on two raisin eyes and a raisin mouth that says O!
  6. Ghosts for breakfast! Say BOO, then crunch.
