Free 4th grade math games and practice
Peabody's 4th grade math path has 39 short lesson parts in 6 skill areas, from "Big numbers" to "Fractions to decimals". Ten right answers finish a part, and every part is open. Practice starts on times tables, division, number sense, adding and taking away. All free through the end of 2026.
| Skill area | Parts | Some of the parts |
|---|---|---|
| Whole numbers | 10 | Big numbers, Rounding big numbers and Comparing big numbers |
| Fractions | 4 | Same amount, different names, Comparing fractions and Adding fractions |
| Decimals | 4 | Tenths and hundredths, Comparing decimals and Money |
| Shapes and geometry | 7 | Lines, rays and segments, Parallel and perpendicular and Kinds of angles |
| Number sense | 9 | Multi-step stories, Bigger multi-step stories and What to do with the leftover |
| Measurement and data | 5 | Change units, Area, perimeter and units and Line plots: add fractions |
On screen this path is called Level 6, so a child never has to think about which grade they are "supposed" to be in. A part is finished by ten right answers; a wrong one makes the next problem a little easier and never costs anything.
The lesson parts in 4th grade math
The first 24 of 39 parts, in the order Peabody lists them:
- Big numbers: Place value up to a million.
- Rounding big numbers: To the nearest hundred, thousand or more.
- Comparing big numbers: More digits, bigger number.
- Multiplying by one digit: Break it into parts, then add.
- Multiplying two-digit numbers: The area model, four parts.
- Dividing with leftovers: Sometimes a few are left over.
- Dividing bigger numbers: Take out big groups first.
- Factors: Which numbers divide in exactly?
- Multiples and primes: Skip counting and special numbers.
- Missing sides: Use the perimeter to find a side.
- Same amount, different names: 1/2 = 2/4 = 4/8.
- Comparing fractions: Make the bottoms match, then compare.
- Adding fractions: Same-size pieces? Just count them.
- Mixed numbers: Wholes and pieces together.
- Tenths and hundredths: What each digit after the dot is worth.
- Comparing decimals: Longer doesn't mean bigger.
- Money: Dollars and cents.
- Lines, rays and segments: Count the endpoints
- Multi-step stories: Use more than one operation
- Change units: Big to small: multiply. Small to big: divide
- Parallel and perpendicular: How are two lines related?
- Bigger multi-step stories: Four operations
- Area, perimeter and units: Change to the same unit first
- Kinds of angles: Right, acute, obtuse
…and 15 more parts in the full path.
What practice starts on
Beside the lessons, the practice brain brings facts back on a schedule. For a 4th grade child it works on times tables, division facts, number sense (skip counting, comparing, the number line, place value), adding facts and taking-away facts. The whole math ladder, lowest rung first, is counting, making ten, adding, taking away, number sense, times tables, division, big numbers, fractions, decimals and negatives and algebra; a child starts on the rung their grade puts them on and moves up when answers are solid, so a child who is ahead is not held back and a question answered right is done for good.

Questions parents ask
What does Peabody's 4th grade math cover?
39 lesson parts across whole numbers, fractions, decimals, shapes and geometry, number sense and measurement and data, from big numbers to fractions to decimals. They are short, they are made and marked by code, and they are not matched to state standards.
Does my child have to do the parts in order?
No. Every part is open. The first one not yet finished is marked "Up next" as a suggestion, so a child can go to whatever the class is doing this week.
Is it free?
Yes, free through the end of 2026, with no sign-up. Peabody has no written work, no standards report and no test, so it is practice, not a full curriculum.
