Experience is Discovery Education's K-12 library of videos, ready-made lessons, virtual field trips, career profiles and quick checks, sold to districts. Teachers search it by grade, subject and state standard and assign pieces to the class. A child mostly watches clips, does interactive activities and short quizzes their teacher picked, across science, social studies, math and reading. It is meant as an add-on to the school's main curriculum, not a full course.
Our take: A solid teacher resource library; parents will see it only through school, and it is a supplement rather than something to judge a child's learning by.

What's good
- Large library of short, curated videos and field trips
- Teachers can find material by standard quickly
- District can turn AI tools on or off
Watch for
- Evidence is correlational only
- Mostly video; easy to use as passive screen time
- One privacy policy covers many products and marketing sites, so student rules are harder to pick out
Data and privacy
The school supplies student names, grade, class, month and year of birth and school; the company says data from children under 16 is used only for the purpose it was collected. The company-wide policy also covers marketing cookies and ad pixels on its websites and was last updated November 2023. Read the privacy policy.
Does it work?
A correlational study by McREL (hired research firm) linked Experience use to higher Arizona test scores in grades 3-8; the maker says this meets only ESSA Tier IV, with a Tier III study planned.
