Merlyn Origin

Desk research from the maker's own pages. Not yet tried by us. Checked 2026-10-24.

A voice assistant for teachers that runs on the teacher's laptop (with a Chrome extension and a USB voice remote) or inside some interactive classroom panels. While teaching, the teacher can say things like 'bring up mixed fractions' to open slides, websites, videos or timers on the class screen, or ask its education-tuned chatbot for content and answers, so they can keep moving around the room. Students do not have accounts; they see and hear it during lessons.

Our take: Of interest to schools wanting hands-free classroom tech; parents should ask how classroom audio is handled, and buyers should confirm the product's future after the reported sale.

What's good

  • Teacher-only tool: no student accounts or student screens
  • Education-tuned AI grounded in school content
  • Lets teachers move around the room instead of sitting at a laptop

Watch for

  • A microphone in the classroom that processes voice audio
  • Company was reported acquired by MYND.AI in Sept 2025; its website news stops in 2024
  • AI answers can still be wrong; terms tell teachers to check outputs

Data and privacy

The classroom product receives and processes voice commands and other personal data from the classroom, and the school is responsible for any consents. The website privacy policy covers only marketing-site visitors; product data terms sit in customer agreements, and the product trust site did not load during this research. Read the privacy policy.

Does it work?

The maker cites independent research finding that after 7 weeks teachers spent less time on admin, and says 61% reported less tech stress; the study itself was not linked. No study of student learning was found.
