A text-message style app teachers, coaches and club leaders use to reach students and families without sharing phone numbers. Messages go by app, text or email and can be translated. Remind is now part of ParentSquare: the free Remind Chat stays for individual teachers and coaches, Remind Hub is now sold to organizations outside K-12, and K-12 districts are being moved to ParentSquare. Students, often middle and high schoolers, mostly read reminders and reply to their teacher.
Our take: Fine for a coach or teacher who needs quick reminders; schools are better served by the ParentSquare platform it is being folded into.
| Ages it suits | about 10-18 (students in classes, teams and clubs), plus parents |
|---|---|
| What its terms say about age | The Remind Chat terms set no minimum age but say anyone under 18 must read the terms with a parent or guardian. The privacy policy says it follows COPPA and may use FTC-approved methods to get parental consent for children. (terms) |
| Price | Free, with paid extras. Remind Chat is free for teachers, coaches and individuals. Remind Hub (outside K-12) and ParentSquare (K-12) are sold to organizations; prices are not public (Oct 2026). |

Data and privacy
The Remind Chat privacy policy lists names, phone numbers, emails, school, class or team, and attachments that may contain voice and image. It says ParentSquare does not sell personal data, does not share it for targeted ads, and does not build student profiles for advertising; parents can ask to review or delete a child's data. Read the privacy policy.
