A school platform where teachers build or choose Spaces, AI-guided activities that students join with a code. Inside a Space, an AI sidekick named Dot tutors, asks questions and gives feedback while the teacher watches conversations live and gets alerts and insights. Higher plans add student portals with round-the-clock access, LMS integration, live translation and an AI notetaker. Teachers can start on a limited free trial; schools buy Pro or Scale plans.
Our take: One of the more carefully governed classroom AI tutors; parents can ask whether their school uses the 24/7 portal and how long chats are kept.

| What its terms say about age | Students may use it only through a school, which must get any consent the law requires. Children under 13 may use it only through their school (or with a parent's consent), under SchoolAI's COPPA notice. (terms) |
| Price | Free, with paid extras. Free trial with 5 Space launches a year; Pro and Scale plans by quote (not public, Oct 2026). |

What's good
- Teachers can watch every student chat live
- Students join by code inside teacher-set limits
- Detailed COPPA notice with clear limits
- Live translation in 60+ languages
Watch for
- Student chats with the AI are recorded and stored
- Evidence is correlational, not a trial
- Scale plan gives students 24/7 AI access outside class
- Teacher notetaker can record students' voices
Data and privacy
SchoolAI's COPPA notice says children's data is used only for school purposes, never for targeted ads or for training AI beyond the product's own learning features. Voice recordings go to OpenAI only for transcription and are deleted afterward, and no third-party ad trackers run on child-facing pages. Read the privacy policy.
Does it work?
SchoolAI reports three ESSA Level III (promising evidence) designations reviewed by Instructure in April 2026, based on its own correlational studies, such as a survey of 390 educators. No randomized trial found.
