Henny Penny: a free printable book

Print Henny Penny as a little book to cut and staple, or as one page to read together. Every page has its picture, and the words are the ones in the story. Free, with no sign-up.

When your child gets stuck on a word

  1. Look for parts you know.
  2. Sound it out: say each sound, left to right, then say the word fast.
  3. Check it. Is it a real word? Does it make sense? Then check the picture.

If it is a word that cannot be sounded out, like the or said, just tell them the word and have them say it, then reread the sentence.

Print on 2 sheets of paper turned sideways (choose landscape in the print window). Cut along the dotted lines, put the little pages in order by their numbers, and staple them on the left.
