Free educational classroom games

Free educational classroom games for teachers: interactive and review games for facts and spelling, and lesson starters, all in the browser with no sign-up and no ads. Each practises reading or math, and students can play on the board or on their own device. Free through 2026.

Interactive games for the class

Show a game on the board and take turns answering, or let students play on their own device. Answers are three big boxes to tap, so no typing.

A few action games (Sniper, Doomcrawl, Invasion, Last Word, Cell Break and Onslaught) have cartoon fighting or scary parts, so we leave them off the school lists. Every game is in the arcade.

Classroom review games

For review, use the games that drill one thing:

  • Deep Dig: phonics, sight words and spelling.
  • Number Line Run: whole numbers, fractions, decimals and the start of algebra.
  • Typing: short lessons, one small step and one game.

Lesson starters and brain breaks

A two-minute game opens a lesson or gives a break. Quick games such as Whack, Pop and Odd One Out practise a skill in under a minute.

For teachers

Peabody has no class codes or teacher dashboard yet. Each student plays on their own; a teacher can show a game on the board or let students open it on their own device.

Every game runs in a web browser, so a Chromebook with Chrome can open it. A few 3D games run slower on older devices, and we have not tested every school network, so try it on one device first. Many games have sound; headphones help in a shared room.

Questions teachers ask

Are these free for teachers?

Yes, free through the end of 2026, with no ads. Nothing about a student is asked to play.

Do the games follow my curriculum?

No. Peabody practises reading and math on a grade ladder from Pre-K to 8th grade, but it is a practice tool, not a curriculum. See the reading and math pages for what each grade covers.

How do I know what a student practised?

A student with an account has progress a grown-up can see in the parent console. There is no teacher view yet.

More: games to play at school, middle school games and learning games by grade.
