Free 2nd grade math games and practice
Peabody's 2nd grade math path has 37 short lesson parts in 4 skill areas, from "Fast facts to 20" to "Skip count from any number". Ten right answers finish a part, and every part is open. Practice starts on adding, taking away and number sense. All free through the end of 2026.
| Skill area | Parts | Some of the parts |
|---|---|---|
| Whole numbers | 14 | Fast facts to 20, Tens and ones and Hundreds, tens and ones |
| Shapes and geometry | 7 | Polygons, Find the polygon and Faces of solids |
| Number sense | 9 | Story problems to 100, Harder stories and Add up to four numbers |
| Measurement and data | 7 | Reading a ruler, Not starting at zero and Choose a unit, make a guess |
On screen this path is called Level 4, so a child never has to think about which grade they are "supposed" to be in. A part is finished by ten right answers; a wrong one makes the next problem a little easier and never costs anything.
The lesson parts in 2nd grade math

What practice starts on
Beside the lessons, the practice brain brings facts back on a schedule. For a 2nd grade child it works on adding facts, taking-away facts and number sense (skip counting, comparing, the number line, place value). The whole math ladder, lowest rung first, is counting, making ten, adding, taking away, number sense, times tables, division, big numbers, fractions, decimals and negatives and algebra; a child starts on the rung their grade puts them on and moves up when answers are solid, so a child who is ahead is not held back and a question answered right is done for good.

Questions parents ask
What does Peabody's 2nd grade math cover?
37 lesson parts across whole numbers, shapes and geometry, number sense and measurement and data, from fast facts to 20 to skip count from any number. They are short, they are made and marked by code, and they are not matched to state standards.
Does my child have to do the parts in order?
No. Every part is open. The first one not yet finished is marked "Up next" as a suggestion, so a child can go to whatever the class is doing this week.
Is it free?
Yes, free through the end of 2026, with no sign-up. Peabody has no written work, no standards report and no test, so it is practice, not a full curriculum.
