The 9 best new learning games of 2026

The best learning games of 2026 did not feel like homework. They taught gardening and cooking without words, city planning on Roblox, matching and memory at the table, and history through a courtroom drama. Our picks are new this year or won a major 2026 award for families or learning. We favored games without ads, loot boxes or pushy upgrades, and we note when a subscription or platform comes with strings. Board games made the list on purpose: a card game played face to face teaches turn-taking and strategy no app can.

We picked 2026 releases and 2026 winners of the Apple Design Awards, Games for Change, Kidscreen and Spiel des Jahres awards, then checked platforms, ages and prices in October 2026. Checked 2026-10-24. Nobody paid to be here and nothing is an affiliate link.
