2026 in review

The 12 best YouTube channels for learning in 2026

YouTube had a messy 2026. Advocates found cheap AI-generated videos, some teaching wrong facts, crowding into kids' feeds and YouTube Kids. That makes a short list of trusted channels more useful than ever. These creators and studios make real, carefully checked videos, from toddler songs to engineering builds and big science questions for teens. Subscribe to the ones that fit your child, turn off autoplay, and watch together when you can. YouTube's main app is for 13 and up; younger kids should use YouTube Kids or a parent-supervised account.

We picked long-running channels with clear educational aims, strong track records and 2026 recognition such as Kidscreen awards, linking each creator's own site. Subscriber counts were checked in October 2026. Checked 2026-10-24. Nobody paid to be here and nothing is an affiliate link.
