Reading Eggs

Desk research from the maker's own pages. Not yet tried by us. Checked 2026-10-24.

Reading Eggs is a reading program made of animated lessons, phonics games and an e-book library for ages 2 to 13. Children work through lessons at their level and earn rewards as they go, and older kids move on to Reading Eggspress and other add-on programs. A subscription also includes Mathseeds math lessons for up to four children, and schools can buy class licenses.

Our take: A reasonable all-in-one reading and math subscription for ages 3-8; check the auto-renewal date before the trial ends.

What's good

  • Covers a wide age range in one plan
  • Includes math (Mathseeds)
  • No ads in the program
  • Clear privacy policy on AI training

  • Game rewards can pull focus from reading
  • Evidence is thin

Data and privacy

3P Learning says it follows COPPA and GDPR, does not sell data to advertisers, does not use children's data for behavioral ads, and will not use children's data for AI training or data brokerage without separate opt-in parent consent. Read the privacy policy.

Does it work?

The maker highlights a 2016-17 action-research study of 31 second graders in one South Carolina school over six weeks that found fewer below-grade readers. That is a very small study; no large independent trial found.
