Desk research from the maker's own pages. Not yet tried by us. Checked 2026-10-24.
A browser and phone app for building software. Users describe an app or website in plain words and the Replit Agent writes, runs and publishes the code, or they code by hand in many languages with AI help. Projects can be shared and put live on the web. Replit now markets mainly to founders, product teams and engineers, and in August 2026 its terms dropped the option for children under 13 to use it with a parent's consent.
Our take: Fine for older teens with a parent's permission who want to ship real projects; younger kids are no longer allowed, and beginners learning to code may do better with tools built for teaching.
| Ages it suits | about 13-18 and adults |
|---|---|
| What its terms say about age | Must be at least 13; under 18 needs a parent's or guardian's permission. The terms updated August 3, 2026 removed the earlier rule that let under-13s use Replit with a parent's written consent. (terms) |
| Price | Free, with paid extras. Limited free use; Core $20 a month ($18 billed yearly) and Pro $100 a month ($90 billed yearly), plus pay-as-you-go effort-based charges for heavier AI use (USD, Oct 2026). |

| The AI in it | An AI agent powered by large language models writes, fixes and deploys code from plain-language requests. |
