Wattpad

By Wattpad Corp.. Visit Wattpad

Desk research from the maker's own pages. Not yet tried by us. Checked 2026-10-24.

A huge free library of stories written by its users, where readers comment right inside stories as they read. Many teens read fan fiction and romance here and post their own writing. Writers rate stories Everyone or Mature (17+), and Mature can include explicit sex, self-harm and graphic violence. Wattpad Originals are paid stories unlocked with Coins. Apple's App Store rates the app 16+, even though Wattpad's terms allow 13+. There are no parental controls.

Our take: Good for older teens who love to read and write; parents of 13 to 15 year olds should look at what they read and who comments.
