17 best geography and history games for kids

Geography and history stick when kids can explore: spin a globe, guess where a photo was taken, or make a choice and live with what happens. This list mixes free map quizzes, daily guessing games, story games about the past, big strategy games for older kids, and a few board games. A good pick connects facts to places and people instead of drilling lists. Some history games handle hard topics like war and slavery, and we say where you should preview first.

We favored games that teach real places and real history, checked them in October 2026, and noted ESRB ratings for video games. Prices were checked in Oct 2026 and move. Checked 2026-10-24. Nobody paid to be here and nothing is an affiliate link.
