Official SAT Practice (College Board)

By College Board. Visit Official SAT Practice (College Board)

Desk research from the maker's own pages. Not yet tried by us. Checked 2026-10-24.

The test maker's own free practice for the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10 and PSAT 8/9. Students download the Bluebook app to take full-length adaptive practice tests just like the real digital exam, then see scores in My Practice. Tailored Practice serves questions based on their results, a question bank has thousands of items, and the free Official SAT Prep on Khan Academy walks through every practice-test question. Students need their own College Board account.

Our take: The first stop for any teen preparing for the SAT or PSAT; parents should help their teen opt out of Student Search Service if they don't want college marketing.

What's good

  • Official questions in the real test format
  • Free, with no ads
  • Khan Academy explanations for every practice question
  • Works on school Chromebooks and iPads

Watch for

  • Heavy activity tracking inside Bluebook
  • Student Search Service shares data with colleges unless you opt out
  • 2024 New York settlement over misuse of student data
  • Students under 13 cannot have an account

Data and privacy

Bluebook records every answer, click, mouse position and time on page, plus device details; during real tests on Windows it takes temporary admin rights to block other programs. College Board says it shows no third-party ads but uses student data for research and runs Student Search Service, which shares student details with colleges unless you opt out. Read the privacy policy.

Does it work?

No independent study of the practice tools found. In 2024 New York's attorney general fined College Board $750,000 for sharing student data from school-day tests through Student Search Service.
