Desk research from the maker's own pages. Not yet tried by us. Checked 2026-10-24.
Securly sells school web filtering and student monitoring. Its Aware product scans students' Gmail, Outlook, Google Drive, OneDrive, chats, Teams, social media, web searches and AI chats on school accounts for signs of self-harm, violence and bullying, gives each student a color-coded 'Wellness Level' from 60 days of activity, and can prompt students before they send hurtful messages. Paid On-Call analysts alert schools within five minutes for extreme risk. Parents may get the Securly Home app to see activity on school devices.
Our take: If your district uses it, ask what is scanned, who sees alerts and the wellness score, and what the Home app shows; it's a school decision, not a family one.

What's good
- Can surface a student in crisis after hours
- Case tracking for counselors
- Points struggling students to support resources
- Deletes student data after the contract ends
Watch for
- Reads email, documents and AI chats, not just web history
- A wellness score built from 60 days of online activity
- Staff, and parents if the district allows, can read a child's AI conversations
- Families usually can't opt out
Data and privacy
Securly logs students' online activity and, in some services, screenshots and chats; for wellness tools schools may add gender, ethnicity, special education and health details. It does not sell student information or use it for ads, deletes it within 30 days after a contract ends unless the school sets another period, and may use de-identified data to improve its services; its marketing websites may share visitor data with ad networks. Read the privacy policy.
Does it work?
RAND's review of AI suicide-risk monitoring in K-12 schools calls the evidence preliminary and warns these tools can compromise student privacy and deepen inequalities. Securly's accounts of lives saved are customer testimonials.
