Zuoyebang is one of China's largest homework apps for primary through high school. A user photographs a problem or a whole page and gets the answer with a step-by-step explanation and video, checks homework and mental-math sheets, writes essays with AI help, translates English and joins live classes. Under its children's policy, the photo-search answer feature only works in a parent or teacher mode that needs real-name verification.
Our take: For Chinese-speaking parents who want help checking homework; children working alone can use it to copy answers, so it needs supervision.
| Ages it suits | primary to high school (about 6-18) |
|---|---|
| What its terms say about age | Children's privacy policy: a child must have a guardian's consent; the app treats users as children based on the grade they enter. Photo-search answers only work in parent/teacher mode after real-name verification with name and national ID number. (terms) |
| Price | Free, with paid extras. Free app with in-app purchases, including a VIP membership for more video answers, Q&A and paper downloads; prices not listed on the website (Oct 2026). |

| In-app purchases | Yes |
| The AI in it | AI reads photographed questions, explains solutions, grades whole homework pages and essays, and writes or corrects essays. |
