A study app popular with high school students as a free Quizlet alternative. Students make or import flashcards and notes, and its AI turns PDFs, slides, videos and recorded lectures into notes, flashcards and practice tests. It also has AP, SAT and ACT prep with mock exams, an AI voice tutor named Kai, AI podcasts made from notes, and study plans that predict what an exam will cover. Teachers can run classes on it too.
Our take: A solid free flashcard and test-prep tool for teens 13+, best when a parent has given the AI consent the terms require; kids under 13 should not use it.
| Ages it suits | about 13-18 and college |

Data and privacy
The privacy policy says Knowt and ad partners, including Freestar, use cookies and mobile ad IDs for analytics and personalized ads, but it says it does not collect advertising cookies from children. It has a COPPA section noting some younger users and says parental consent is required for children's data. Read the privacy policy.
Does it work?
The maker's own claims only: it says about 700,000 students used it for May 2025 AP exams and that 95% of its users passed their AP exams in 2026. No independent study found.
