Todo English is an English-as-a-foreign-language app for children about 5-10 from Enuma, the Berkeley-founded maker of Todo Math. Kids start with the alphabet and phonics and work through 12 levels and 400 days of daily lessons, with 550+ games, videos and 300 books, aiming at a US second-grade reading level. Parents get weekly progress updates. Enuma designs its apps for kids with learning differences too.
Our take: A well-built English starter for young non-native speakers; weigh the monthly cost and voice recording.

What's good
- No third-party ads
- Structured phonics path to early reading
- Maker with proven early-learning work
Watch for
- Records children's voices
- Fairly pricey monthly subscription
- Evidence is for a different Enuma product
Data and privacy
Enuma's policy says its apps show no third-party ads and it does not sell data, but some apps collect children's birth month and year, handwriting, drawings and voice recordings; the App Store label lists audio data and coarse location. Read the privacy policy.
Does it work?
Enuma's Kitkit School was co-winner of the Global Learning XPRIZE after field tests in rural Tanzania; that evidence is for a sister product, not Todo English itself.
