The KidiZoom Smart Watch line is VTech's best-selling kids' gadget (top-selling youth electronics toy in the US in 2018, per VTech). The MAX model is a wrist toy with a touch screen, two cameras for photos and videos, eight games, a voice recorder with effects, a pedometer, alarms and parental controls. It has no phone or internet; two MAX owners can play head-to-head games, and parents can add apps from VTech's Learning Lodge through a computer.

Our take: A fun offline gadget for young kids who want a 'watch like a grown-up'; parents wanting location tracking or calls need a different kind of device.
